The Chhatrapati Seva Pratishthan is a non-profit organization founded in 1974. Their mission is to promote the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

The organization achieves this by:

  • Publishing books on the life and history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

  • Organizing lectures and educational programs

  • Conducting tours of historical forts and sites associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Shivakathakar, Shree Vijayrao Deshmukh

Sadgurudas Maharaj Shri Vijayrao Deshmukh, a renowned scholar and historian, dedicated his life to researching and documenting the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was a key figure in the establishment of the Chhatrapati Seva Pratishthan and served as its first president.

Deshmukh's extensive research and writings have significantly contributed to our understanding of Shivaji Maharaj's life, his military strategies, and his political acumen. His work has inspired generations of historians and has played a crucial role in keeping Shivaji Maharaj's legacy alive.

Shakakarte Shivray

Shakakarte Shivray is a two-volume History of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, authored by Sadgurudas Maharaj. 

While it is written in captivating and fluent language, the book is based on scholarly research based on direct evidence. 

 

This work of Sadgurudas Maharaj has also led to discovery of the birthplace of Jijamata, which was not known to historians, and solve the controversy regarding the date of birth of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Popular History of Shivaji Maharaj: a confusing Narrative

Although ample content has been made on the History of Shivaji Maharaj, a lot of it is unauthentic or majorly fictional. There is a need to bring an authentic research-based History, encompassing not only the famous feats of the time, but also some lesser-knowns ones such as Early victories, Confrontations with European powers, Conquest in South India, etc.

  • Glimpses Studio has made 50+ animated stories since 2018 and the leadership has experience of 9 years in the Animation and Design Industry having worked with Brands like Coca-Cola, Google Cloud, Plasto, etc.

  • Glimpses Studio also has made a 2.5 hour content on the History of Aurangzeb & Dara Shukoh that is precursor to the era of Shivaji Maharaj. 

  • This series was also made to historical accuracy, referring to works by Jadunath Sircar, Avik Chanda, Supriya Gandhi

  • The format of the stories is entertaining while authentic to the source material. Aiming to attract the interest of more people to Shakakarte Shivray, the book, for further study and deeper understanding

  • The project can thus contribute to spreading the authentic and true History of Chhatrapati to wider audiences.

Project Process: Project Stages & tentative timeline

  1. Scripting: Curating and condensing the material from all the chapters to weave an engaging episode from it (First two months)

  2. Rough Storyboard and Animatic to get all team members a visualization of the story-to-be (Week 1-2 for each episode)

  3. Final Drawings. Detailed and colorful drawings of characters, background landscapes, and the props to be animated during later phases. (Week 3-6)

  4. Voice Over acting. Professional voice actors shall enact the characters in the story (Week 4-6)

  5. Animation. The Final Drawings shall be animated for facial expressions, body language, etc. (Week 5-7)

  6. Music Production suiting the theme and mood of the scenes and in sync with the animation (Week 8-9)

  7. Film Editing to compile all the animated shots, adjust colors, add sound effects, etc. (Week 10)

  8. Publication and Promotion Glimpses Studio channel (Week 11-12)

Tentative Timeline

  • The production for the multiple videos can run in parallel with Each animation beginning every month

  • The total Duration of the Project is estimated to be twelve months -

Project budget

  • Estimated Budget for Essential Expenses: Close to INR 1,270,000

  • Other Expenses such as Infrastructure, Management, Software, Digital Tools, subscriptions to Digital, etc. shall be born by Glimpses Studio

Options for Contribution

Although the sole purpose of this project is to bring an authentic History of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to a global audience, the association/organization/company funding the project has the option to include a 30-second promotion of themselves/their services/products in each Episode to leverage the opportunity to reach thousands of adolescents every month potentially.

  • for the 30-second part, Glimpses Studio shall bear the costs for 

    1. Simple Video Editing using the material (Script, videos, images, etc.) provided by the supporter, 

    2. Single-character Professional Voiceover Narration along with its recording by an Indian voiceover artist of our choice, 

  • A link to the supporter's website shall be included in the YouTube video description, on the Glimpses Studio website, in related Facebook Posts, on LinkedIn Posts, and on Instagram Posts related to the project.

  • The Funding can be split between up to ten (or as many number of episodes) entities according to their mutual understanding and agreement.

  • Chhatrapati Seva Pratishthan and Glimpses Studio will take the final decision on such a sponsorship and their supporter pitch based on the content of the pitch.
